Fiesta in the Park To Benefit Reining Horse Sports Foundation

Fiesta in the Park Organizers and Reining Horse Sports Foundation
President Frank Costantini announced in late July that the Fiesta in the
Park, host of the Adequan® / USEF Open Reining Championship, will benefit
the Reining Horse Sports Foundation, and Costantini urged reining
participants, fans and breeders to come on board as supporters of, and
participants in, the show.
"The Reining Horse Sports Foundation is incredibly grateful to be a
recipient of the proceeds from Fiesta in the Park," said Costantini. "This
partnership strengthens our sport by helping us put the infrastructure in
place to make Reining truly universal. Once we accomplish that, our position
as the fourth equestrian discipline at the Olympic Games is tremendously
improved."
Slated for August 24-28 in the beautiful Kentucky Horse Park, the event has
special significance for international competition in the United States. The
Kentucky Horse Park is a leader in the bidding for the 2010 World Equestrian
Games, and this reining event, held concurrently with a hunter-jumper show,
will help boost the Park's chances of hosting WEG in the United States by
presenting a multiple-discipline show in the park.
"Individuals and companies involved in the Reining world have shown
their support by coming on board as sponsors for the event. Doing so
furthers worldwide competition of our sport while supporting the industry's
foundation through the RHSF."
Costantini continued, "Exhibitors, owners, sponsors and fans are a
part of this show, and a part of Reining history." Indeed, the show
features, not only the headline championship, but also a slate of National
Reining Horse Association approved classes and a Maturity for 4-year-old
reining horses.
Fiesta organizers noted that plans are firming up for the show and the
schedule (listed below) includes tours of the Park, some of the great
Thoroughbred farms and of the historic facility of bourbon maker, Woodford
Reserve. Action gets underway on Wednesday, August 24, with the Fiesta
Maturity for 4-year-olds where the Open Champion receives a year's use of a
4-horse Featherlite Trailer from Kentucky Lake Trailer Sales.
